Damp strip across the image (rather inconspicuous), probably caused by a leak when it was placed on a wall somewhere.
On back a sticker of Romein, located at Duivelandschestraat 45, Scheveningen and the text "Voorzichtig uitpakken. Kostbare Teekening. Zeer vatbaar voor beschadiging (spuitwerk). Teekening nergens tegen aanzetten Voorzicht!!! Dank u."
*Bernard Romein was born in Hilligersberg, Rotterdam. He was an artist and poster maker, and worked for the Nederlandsche Gist- en Spiritusfabriek Delft, among others. One of his students was Willem de Kooning. In 1938 he emigrated to Ireland and began teaching there. He died in Dublin in 1957.
