Collection of ± 90 mid-20th-century printed cut-out thick paper figures,

consisting of 31 circus figures and animals, 26 (farm)houses, 3 churches, 2 mills, 19 human figures/ (working or farm) animals and 7 paper dressing dolls, various sizes (smallest 2 x 5 cm and largest 15 x 29 cm), for the greater part mounted on wooden blocks (the buildings, animals and human figures) or cardboard stands (the circus figures), kept in contemp. board box.

With occas. defects (buildings partly warped, a few lacking pieces or folds), but generally in good condition for such fragile paper toys. The circus figures were produced for advertorial purposes, with slogans such as "Nivea brillantine houdt het haar in de goede vorm", "Nivea klitwortel olie tegen roos en haaruitval", "Keelpijn? Tussipect helpt direct" and "Perucerin. Verzacht, beschermt en geneest de huid". The circus consists of the 2 lions Aboul and Rex, circus director Mr. Oscar, "Bert Gun, meester lassowerper", Resi the giraffe, the bears Thea and Hans ("ik ben Hans en ik dans") with "Umberto de berendresseur", Olif and Olaf the sea lions, "Miss Fifi op het paard Bertina", clowns Rex and Mr. Frick and the poodle Kwik ("ik hoor bij Mr. Frick"), "Lili de Serpento, slangenbezweerster", the elephants Betsy and Coba, the horses Eva, Lily and Rosa, circus assistants Bas, Nico, Willem and Tijs and "Signor de Bassonola, gewichtheffer en krachtmens, tilt 500 kilo met één hand!!" The buildings consist of two sets of which the larger one (21 buildings) is highly realistic (1x with text "Holsteiner Hot"), the smaller set is more stylized (11 buildings).
