Hervagius, 1535, 2 volumes in 1 binding, (8),394[=410],(2); 284,(4)p., with various woodcut printer's marks on the title pages and final pages, woodcut initials, finely bound in strictly contemporary blindstamped pigskin with roll stamps of portraits of Hercules, Septimus Severus, Antoninus and Hendricus Dux Saxoniae (dated 1524), across wooden boards with remains of clamps, small folio.
First title with stamp on recto and verso, (old) owner's annotations in pen and with hand-coloured and pen-adapted printer's mark (2 escutcheons added); here and there small other defects such as minimal wormholes or (water)stains. Else a beautiful clean copy with wide margins. The binding lacks the clamps and has some traces of wear, the endpapers are of a later date.
Beautiful edition, printed entirely in Greek, with various fine type pages, with for example commentary (in small type) placed around the main text (larger type).
