Unknown edition, no other copies traced, no even in PiCarta! Another earlier Dutch edition by Allart exists, titled Elisa [sic], of De vrouw zo als zy behoorde te zyn, appeared in 1799. Additionally, PiCarta mentions a new edition titled Elisa [sic], of De vrouw zoals zij zijn moest, published in 1801, with the indication that this book is unavailable. The publication of this Dutch translation is therefore shrouded in mystery. The original German edition was titled Elisa, oder Das Weib wie es seyn sollte, and similar to the Dutch edition it was published anonymously, in 1795. There is also a counterpart for the man, also originally published in Germany: Robert, of De man zo als hy behoort te zyn, tot aan zyne intrede in den echten staat en het huislijk leven geschetst : een wederga van Elisa, of De vrouw zo als zy behoorde te zyn, by Christian Friedrich Traugott Voigt, published in Westzaandam, 1800-1802. Remarkably, PiCarta indicates that this book, too, is unavailable.
