[Japan. V.O.C.]
Paris. P. Witte, 1722, 4 volumes in 1 binding, 135,(1);(137)-257,(1); 137,(1);158,(2) p., with 6 folding, engraved plates, contemporary marbled and polished calf, ribbed, gilt back with morocco title shields, small 8vo.
Good and finely bound copy with some minimal defects (outer corners of boards bumped, leather trifle dry along edges). With small printed ex libris "Eyries" on inside front cover, probably Jean-Baptiste Benoît Eyriès.
The "Ambassades" are divided into three volumes with separate title pages, of which the first two with continuous paging. The "Relation des guerres civiles", too, has a separate title page. This edition is the third French edition, after an edition with a slightly different title from 1680 (folio) and one from 1686.
