[Indonesia] Wilhelminadag op Ceylon

Herinneringsalbum van de Ragamafeesten op den 31sten augustus 1901. Uitgegeven ten voordeele van het Broekhuizenfonds (voor de nagelaten weduwen en weezen der gevallen Boeren). Bewerkt door E.F.E. Douwes Dekker (krijgsgevangene op Ceylon) (en met voorrede door J.B. Schepers). Haarlem, H. Kleinmann & Co., n.d. Text pages adhering together in top right-hand corner due to damp; here and there trifle foxed, over foxed and duststained. Nevertheless a good copy. Fine and rare publication after an original that F.C. Verslewel de Witt Hamer received from Douwes Dekker with the request to have it published. Publisher Kleinmann was impressed by the "hoogst artistieke bewerking, te meer te bewonderen daar den vervaardiger slechts de eenvoudigste hulpmiddelen ten dienste stonden". This copy with separately inserted "Proeve van bewerking" (prospectus, dated January 1902, unfolded 51.5 x 33 cm.), with a proof of the first plate and an uncompleted subscription list. The prospectus also mentions that De Witt Hamer has signed the copies intended for sale in order to thus control the sale. This copy with the signature of F.C. Verslewel de Witt Hamer and number 164 in pen on the inside of the back cover.
