WITHDRAWN

Antiphonary in pen and black and red ink, CCXCIX,(16) p., (incl. 7 p. "Table de ce processionel faict selon d'ordre de l'A.B.C."), with headpiece, initials and small illustrations in coloured gouache (incl. tulips and other flowers and the head of Saint John the Baptist on a plate), the songs in Latin, the chapter titles in French, dated at the end "Fin NB 4ta 7bris 1627", 19th-century half leather with the aforementioned title blindstamped on the front board, all edges gilt 4to size (21.5 x 15 cm).

Occas. cut sl. short; a bit browned. Bookblock and front board loose. Provenance: with the owner's entries of "Madame de Spangen Ainnée" and Fernand Courtoy. The latter was the president of the Société Archéologique de Namur c. 1960, according to a tipped-in address label used for annotations in pen: "Cf. G[eorges] Coolen. Un antiphonaire de la Collégiale de Saint-Omer', Bull. des Antiq. Morinie t. XIX, fas, 363 Jn 1961 324-330". With loosely inserted lithographic portrait of Joseph Courtoy, dean of Andenne, probably also one of the previous owners of the manuscript. Andenne is a city in the province of Namur in Belgium. The "Collégiale d'Andenne" is that of Sainte-Begge or Begga, mentioned on p. CLX and CCIIII.
