[Indonesia] Shares Way Lima plantation (coffee).
Lot with more than 100 original documents, incl. ca. 60 preprinted subscription forms filled out by hand (1892-1899), and multiple entirely handwritten subscriptions (1892-1897) for the shares, 12 supplement coupon leaves (published 24 June 1899, belonging to 100-guilder obligations), one actual obligation, handwritten current accounts of the company for 1903, 1904 and 1905, and a list of shareholders of the first series (38 persons, subscription for a total of 200,000 guilders).
Interesting documentation of people often investing thousands of guilders in the Cultuuronderneming Way-Lima. The company was founded in 1892 by the Rotterdam entrepreneur Hendrik Muller Szn., who also founded in 1894 the Kedongdong plantation. The Nationaal Archief manages the archives of both plantations. Way-Lima never became successful, hardly any dividend was paid and in 1909 already the organisation was disbanded.
