Leesboekje voor onze jongeren). Set of 12 original (but unsigned) pencil drawings for illustrations from the book, finished as colour gouaches, all with leaf size 29.5 x 20.5 cm., numbered 4, 5, 6, 9, 12, 14-16, 18, 21, 25 and 27 and several with annotations in pencil.

With the following annotations in pencil: "Vignet' (drawing 4); "Jasje is rood geworden, broekje indigoblauw, schoenen indigo, been groen de rest hetzelfde" (14); "Paddestoelen blad" (18); "Links iets verbreden" (27). With added: Winkie en zijn Woudvriendjes. Leesboekje voor onze jongeren door Willy Schermelé. No place, publisher or date (Amsterdam, Hema, between 1962 and 1969), (28) p., 32 coloured and b/w illustrations (incl. binding and endpaper and all illustrations with printed signature or monogram), original cardboard (annotations and paging in pen). This is not the original edition, which actually appeared at Van Holkema en Warendorf in 1962. We were therefore unable to see how the drawings hold up to the first edition, but all drawings reappear as illustrations in our Hema edition, albeit not in the exact order, partly uncoloured, moreover the drawings differ conspicuously from the illustrations in the book, as if it concerns finely finished studies (total 12 drawings and 1 book).
