[Manuscript copy of unknown edition] "Chronologische tafelen
Manuscript, ca. 1830, 39 p. (several p. blank), preface with mounted in original bifolium a copy in pen of the frontispiece, an illustration and a vignette, in contemporary portfolio, folio size (32 x 20.5 cm.).
Loose in bifolia, ties in spine mostly lacking as are the ties of the portfolio. Copy on laid paper with water mark "De erven Dk. Blauw" and Pro Patria, ca. 1830, on much larger size than the original 12mo-editions in Dutch and French published by Mortier. The copy is of interest because no edition 1719 appears in PiCarta. The earliest Parisian editions appeared in 1679 and 1682. Mortier published French editions in 1686 (engraved) and 1687 (letterpress) after these Parisian editions ("Tablettes chronologiques") and from 1693 also editions in Dutch like the one after which the manuscript was made. The drawn copy of the frontispiece, the loose vignette and the vignette on the title page of the manuscript repeat exact elements already appearing in the engraved edition of 1686, which were therefore reused in newer, updated editions.
