Personal letter, in which Beets with enormous ceremony shows his appreciation for the recipient, after the letter had sent him a letter on 12 September in honour of his 80th birthday (the 13th). Beets writes that he himself would still like to enjoy a number of years of activity (as the recipient had wished him). He briefly addresses a mentioned memory of Prince Henry before concluding in an extremely polite manner. (2) "Tachtigste verjaardag. 13 September 1894". Letterpress occasional poem by Beets, printed by Stoomdrukkerij "De Industrie", J. van Druten, (1894), bifolium, 21 x 13.5 cm. (minor tears/ folds).
