Rare pocket atlas mainly intended for merchants and soldiers. With among other things the unusually large number of 8 world maps and a map of the five continents. Owner's inscription from 1795 J.G.v.M., a soldier from the 98th (regiment?) stationed at Oost-Zaandam. Spine torn along joint, yet firm in binding, leather corner b.r. front board expertly restored.
