[Japanese colour woodcuts] Humorous series of 13 Japanese colour woodcuts,
late 19th century, all ca. 36 x 24 cm., in the shape of a pentaptych, a tetraptych and two diptychs.
Two prints centrally cut with a sharp knife (repairable), else in good condition with here and there minor other defects. Lovely, unidentified series, considering the location and shape of the character spaces all belonging to the same series, of which we could not trace all parts. The parts included here depict various humorous scenes, such as a huge fight with a steam train in the background and a laundress farting in a man's face. With another colour woodcut by Toyohara Cikanobu added (total 14).
