Small 4to, in 18th-century leather binding, title on spine in gilt stamping, marbled endpapers, title with vignette, XXII pp. and 46 blank pp., 2x ex libris on endpaper, name on endpaper in ms., annotations in pencil. Very good copy.
*In order to protect themselves from prosecution, printers of protestant pamphlets printed anonymously or under a pseudonym, as did the Antwerp printer Christaen Houweel (Christianus Hauwelius). This pamphlet appeared shortly after the appointment of Don John of Austria as governor of the Netherlands. It asks for freedom of religion for protestants, its main argument being that two religions can co-exist peacefully in one state.
