Voorstellende een clare ende grondelijcke wtlegginge des send-briefs van Meester Gentianus Hervet, wtgegeven in Fransoys ende Duyts, aen den afgedwaelden van het Christen gelove. By den autheur selve [Philips van Marnix van Sint Aldegonde] vergroot, ende verrijct, na den Fransoyschen Byen-corf (...) by hem int licht gebracht, int Iaer 1599. Leiden, Jan Claesz. Dorp, 1600, (8),274,(6) leaves, with woodcut title illustration and the same woodcut (of a beehive) on leaf 263, later plain wrapper, small 8vo.

Poor copy, yet complete: wormholes throughout the bookblock, mostly in the blank margins or in the glosses, main text unaffected; title page and last leaf damaged with loss to several letters. Rare and early printing in Dutch of this classic, its author still anonymous. The printer dared to print his own name, which had not yet been the case with the Dutch-language edition of 1597.
