Lacks binder's index. Several plates and text leaves waterstained, else slightly foxed as usual. Good copy with very wide margins. William Hodges (1744-1797) became in 1772 the artist for the second expedition of Captain Cook. He left for India in 1778, where he was to remain for six years to capture the most remarkable things in images. Contains descriptions and illustrations of art and architecture, palaces, cities, costumes etc.
