Three titles: (1) God-leerende natuurkunde,

Leiden, I. Severinus, 1728, (32),476,(18) p., with engraved frontispiece by F. van Bleyswyk, engraved title vignette and 22 illustrations on 1 folding, engraved plate, contemporary blindstamped vellum, 4to.

Here and there waterstained, final quires slightly frayed, endpapers loose from boards due to warped vellum, the vellum also bumpy and stained. Relatively rare work, with the engraved frontispiece providing a nice summary of the work: a man dressed as an old-fashioned prophet looks up in an apparently devout manner, but is surrounded by scientific (measuring) instruments. The background depicts the creation in a wide landscape with all kinds of animals as well as various natural phenomena such as lightning, a rainbow, waterfalls and fire. The book discusses all kinds of natural processes and phenomena, each time referring to its relation to the creator. (2-3) Two editions of Abraham van de Veldes De Wonderen des Alder-Hoogsten/ Allerhoogsten (vertoond Inde Opkomst van 't Vereenigd Nederland) (edition Amsterdam, 1707, with engraved plates, contemporary vellum (poor copy at least lacking the frontispiece) and edition Utrecht, 1896, 9 parts, with plates, original uniform wrapper) (total 3, sold w.a.f.).
