Poezy en proza voor het opkomend geslacht, door L. van den Broek. Warmond, H.J.T. Matveld en J.C. Thomasze, n.d. (c. 1850), 36 p., with many handcoloured illustrations on 8 lithographed plates (partly inside and partly outside paging), original, gold-lithographed boards with cloth back.

Inner joint of front board split, light wear to edges yet a very good copy. Contains 3 long poems: Waar geluk; Buiten; In den vreemde en nabij, and 2 stories connecting the images on the plates, incl. "Onschuld en trouw of Karel en Caro", and "Tweede vertooning". Beautifully illustrated, rare Warmond edition; (2) Uit verre landen en van nabij. Verhalen voor de jeugd door Elise. Amsterdam, G.W. Tiekemeijer, n.d. (1850), 98,(2) p., with 6 handcoloured, lithographed plates, original gilt-lettered and blindstamped cloth. Contents occ. tender, joints fragile, binding stained. The first story "De jonge boschneger" is set in Suriname. With another 2 similar works by A.G. Bruinses. (total 4)
