[Automobilia. Commemorative book 1924] "Petrus Willem Scheltema Beduin,
Commemorative book with finely calligraphed and partly gold-heightened title, followed by a calligraphed list with 14 members of "Het comité", followed by 19 leaves with altogether 98 signatures, very finely bound in gilt full vellum (probably by Elias P. van Bommel), front board with arms of Scheltema Beduin, 35.5 x 29 cm., in original box.
Beautiful commemorative book and relatively early automobilia item. The Rijwiel- en Automobiel-Industrie (RAI) association, founded on 17 December 1893, is currently celebrating its 125th anniversary. In 1924 the committee consisted of J. Leonard Lang (chairman), M.S. Wijnber (secretary), T.H. Citroen, K. Landeweer, J.H. Pimentel and others. The signatures of the members include those of the committee members but also e.g. representatives of Michelin and the N.V. Ver. Ned. Rubberfabrieken.
