[Postal map Netherlands on cloth] Nouvelle carte de poste du royaume des Pays-Bas
et du Grand Duché de Luxemburg. Dédiée & presentée à S.A.R. Le Prince Frederic des Pays-Bas. Engraved map with coloured outlines by Cornelis van Baarsel (1761-1826) and his son Willem Cornelis van Baarsel (1791-1854), Amsterdam/ The Hague, F.J. Weygand, 1830, 74.5 x 51.5 cm., printed on cloth, with finely engraved title top left and legend bottom right and at the bottom, folded in the original slipcase with printed title label on front, 15.5 x 11 cm. (exceptionally well-preserved copy).
Very rare, extremely detailed and attractive postal map. PiCarta lists only the 1823 and 1829 editions. The legend provides the usual information on the most important provinces, departments, roads, distances and 3 different scales, but also in population numbers per province and of the entire area (more than 5.5 million).
