Made of wood decorated with cut seal teeth, decorations partly animal-shaped (polar bear, walrus, narwhal). Greenland, 1932. Diameter bucket (tapered): top 16.5 cm, bottom 9.5 cm. Box dimensions (l x w x h): 15.5 x 9 x 7.2 cm. Removable lid. Lacks to tusks of animals on lid, else good.

Made during the Dutch expedition at the geomagnetic station at Ammassalik, East Greenland as part of the second International Polar Year (1932-1933). Four researchers stayed there for more than a year to mostly study optical phenomena such as halos.
