[Graphic designer] Stefan Mesker (second half 20th century)
Collection of ± 85 printed book covers, brochures, flyers, New Year's greetings, poster and a newspaper, 60s/ 70s, inserted in two rexine files, large folio.
Special collection, undoubtedly the personal portfolio of Stefan Mesker. Contains examples displayed at graphical exhibitions (mounted on cardboard and with typed captions) and his personal stationery. Also an official document showing that Mesker's work was displayed at the 2nd Biennale d'Art graphique appliqué in Brno in 1966 and at the Exposition Internationale d'Art graphique du Livre et d'Illustration, June-September 1966. Mesker mostly designed for publisher Manteau, the collection contains his many book covers for the Marnix Pockets series, for works by Ward Ruyslinck, Johan Daisne, Frans de Bruyn, Françoise Sagan, Felix Timmermans, Godfried Bomans etc. Also a poster and flyer for a Cobra exhibition in April 1974 and advertising material for Bruner (bathrooms).
