[Circus] Rhapsody in White
The Holland-Dutch Circus Van Leer. 16 pp. Cordbound, oblong, c. 1942.
*Van Leer, of Jewish descent, had made a fortune before the war, but had to give up almost everything when the Nazis took over, and was granted a passage from Europe together with a few others for 2 million guilders. His circus act with 8 horses found little success in the US. After the war he returned to business and built a business empire in barrels and packaging.
