[Medieval manuscripts] 7 leaves from 3 different books: (1-3) (Gradual leaves).
Three enormous vellum Bible leaves (bifolium and single sheet), probably c. 1500, with altogether 17 initials in fine pen work in red and blue, a small part with music notation with the text "Benedicite gentes deum nostrum", 81 x 55 cm.
Trifle affected by damp in a top corner and minor defects, lovely old repairs. The bifolium was made from one enormous sheet of thick vellum, 80 x 110.5 cm. With another 4 smaller, partly much later, similar leaves, ± 55 x 36 cm. (bifolium with fine pen-work initials and 2 single leaves incl. one with fine border decorations). Added: "Épreuve du plus ancien bois gravé connu (aux environs de 1370) (...)". (total 8)
