Pieter Cornelis de Moor (1866-1953). (Dancing pair: Dante and Beatrice).
Watercolour, gouache and washed ink, signed bottom left, 27.5 x 17 cm.
Minor discolouring to recto and traces of mounting on verso due to previous mount, but in very good, sound condition. In 2001, a drawing with the same subject and size was sold at auction at Christie's, that description can be found online. According to that description the woman depicted is the famous ballet dancer Isabella Duncan, a favourite subject of the artist.
