Rudi Klemm (1904-1955). Cartoon collage of coloured paper

25 x 10 cm., later pasted to mount under transparent plastic, mount with handwritten text "Rudi Klemm Scherenschnitt 1948".

Torn and repaired in centre, tape used for mounting/ repair visible on the front. Rudi Klemm is mostly known as drawing artist and camera operator for trick and animated films, as such he worked 1927 to 1933 at Pinschewer Film AG in Berlin. Several collage films were made there, incl. Die Chinesische Nachtigall from 1929, the first advertising sound film. Later he designed films in his own studio in Stuttgart.
