Halma, 1725, 2 parts in one vol., (10),470; (2),408 p., contains the following antiquely handcoloured (and partly gold-heightened and partly gum-heightened) engravings: frontispiece, 2 title vignettes, portrait of the author, 2 large headpieces, 26 double-page maps (1x folding), 1 full-page map, 32 portrait plates, also 1 uncoloured, engraved illustration in the text, finely bound in contemporary marbled and gilt calf, both boards with panel division around central ornament, gilt and ribbed back, folio.

Occ. mild foxing; leather across hinges split (hinge strong due to thread), lower corners bumped. Beautifully coloured copy, by a contemporary master "afsetter". The colouring and gilding of the title vignettes and headpieces (particularly the one on page 1 of the second part) deserve special attention, besides that of the frontispiece, the maps and the portraits.
