Leather across hinges partly split; corners of boards bumped. Both vols. with at beginning and end owner's stamp of Adolphe Mathieu (1804-1876), Belgian writer and conservator of manuscripts at the Bibliothèque Royale. Also both vols. with old owner's annotations at top of the title and unidentified bookplate to inside front board. See Vermaseren, De katholieke Nederlandsche geschiedschrijving, p. 223-246: "(...) voor hun tijd waren de "Annales" het beste boek over de brabantsche geschiedenis en het eerste werk in de spaansche Nederlanden over den opstand." The fine portraits were previously used in Balandus's Ducum Brabantiae Chronicon (1600) and in Van Haechts Chroniicke van de hertoghen van Brabant (1606). (total 3 in 2)
