Amsterdam, voor den autheur, 1746, (8),(10) letterpress p., with 142 illustrations (including intertitles) on 71 engraved plates with the specific signal handcoloured and the reverses with letterpress text, and with "Aanhangzel voor particuliere zeinen" containing 12 illustrations (6 different ones) on 6 uncoloured, engraved plates (unfinished, here unused), in contemporary cardboard lacking the spine, small 8vo.

Approved copy with signature in pen of Govertz at the end of the Voor-berigt. Very rare pocket signal book; from 1950 it appeared only rarely on the market. The intertitles are: "Generale Zeynen by Daag" (plate 1-57), "Zeynen in Mist" (plate 58-61, signals with cannon fire) and "Zeynen by Nagt" (other, with a combination of fire beacons and cannon fire).
