The first and second printing appeared in 1967 and 1969, both in 1000 copies. In 1980 a fourth printing appeared. The book concerns a typewriter of the Royal brand (Model "X"), which is thrown out of a car travelling at 90 mph by the artist team. Ruscha was the driver, Williams the thrower and Blackwell the photographer. The book contains all aspects of the destructive consequences of the throw in both images and words.
