Trifle foxed, occ. marginal defects such as small tears/ mild staining and reinforcements; owner's names to flyleaf. Edges of boards and cloth worn. Nevertheless an acceptable copy of this fragile, rare book. Lovely work, each plate with 2 illustrations, i.e. portraits of humans changing into animals upon turning the book, e.g.: "As greedy as... a pig"; "As conceited as... an ape"; "A sly old... fox"; "A surly old... dog"; "As spiteful as... a cat" and one exception: "Making black... white"; (2) Nonsense songs and stories.
