Mariette, 1722, (8),293,11 p., with many illustrations on 38 double-page/ folding engraved plates, woodcut illustrations in the text, contemporary spotted calf, gilt and ribbed back with morocco letterpiece, 4to.

One plate trimmed sl. short in foot margin (with loss to plate number and publisher's name); occ. foxing/ mild browning. Leather sl. pockmarked as usual with this type of decoration (ink corrosion) and with nearly invisible repairs. Good copy with heraldic bookplate of the architect and author in the field of architure, Robert Alexander Briggs (1858-1916) to inside front board. Relatively early (third) printing (1st: 1709) of this often-reprinted handbook for gardeners. Springer p. 32.
