[Entirely engraved Italian print bible] Series of 27 engravings
no place, publisher or date (c. 1840), mostly unsigned but partly after drawings by Giovanni Busato and C. Simonetti engraved by Comiratto, Viviani, A. Bozza and Butazzon, each print with 4-line Italian verse engraved below the image, later plain cordbound wrapper, oblong small folio.
Last three leaves with clumsily restored small tear (1x into the image); occ. mild foxing. Wrapper discoloured, and sl. torn on spine. Rare series with the most important scenes from the Old Testament, such as the creation narrative, Cain and Abel, Noah's ark, Sodom and Gomorrah, Esau and Jacob, and parts of the story of Joseph and his brothers. Mostly after Giovanni Busato (1806-1886, cf. Thieme/Becker V, 278).
