[Medicine. Teyler process] (Iconum pathologicarum). 36 plates in colour intaglio
1st half 19th century, each 25.5 x 20.5 cm., divided into 3 letterpress Roman-numbered series (2x in medium) "Tab. I-XXIII" and "Tab. I-VIII"/ "X" and "Tab. IX-XII", one first plate signed "J.H. Verheyen Fecit" and "H. de Bruyn sculp." blue in the medium, several plates with title in pen in foot margin, loose in contemporary halfleather portfolio with morocco letterpiece "Icones" on ribbed back, 6 ties, 4to size.
Two plates tanned due to former mount (1x also with superficial damage), occ. other defects. Very special, colour-printed plates (partly also in relief), a technique also known as the Teyler process. With in the same portfolio: "Iconum Pathologicarum", a series of 36 lithographed plates numbered "Tab. I-XXXVI", in exactly the same size as the coloured plates (several folding) (somewhat foxed/ waterstained). (total 72 in portfolio)
