Extraordinary collection of costume designs by Corstiaan de Vries (1936-2008) for Seth Gaaikema productions in the 1970s, with accompanying costumes. 4 costume designs for the Swingpop musical (written by Gaaikema and Robert Long) from 1978. Pencil and coloured pencil on paper, cut out and reaffixed to paper, with cloth samples 65 x 50 cm, framed under glass (frame 90 x 75 cm) + 4 frames each with 2 costume designs by De Vries from 1972. Band costumes 'clown suits' for Gaaikema himself and The Blue Diamonds. Drawings in pencil and watercolour, mounted on paper with cloth samples. 48 x 44 cm, in mount + 6 accompanying band costumes from 1972. Designed and partly worn by Gaaikema himself.

Costumes with the odd loose thread, worn. One frame with broken glass, else good. *De Vries studied decorative arts and arts and crafts at the Rotterdamse Academie voor de Beeldende Kunsten and was a set and costume designer with the Rotterdams Toneel.
