Noble family archive Van Coeverden-Van Raesfelt
Extensive and important family archive concerning the Van Coeverden and Van Raesfeldt/ Van Raesveldt families, the oldest piece dated 1532 (?) (another piece dated 1548), the last pieces late 20th century (with emphasis on the 18th and 19th century), consisting of hundreds of (sealed) original documents, letters (incl. dozens of letters from famous (royal and princely) scions of the House of Orange, 1672-1793), notarial documents (often with wax seals) such as extensive property lists, property divisions and wills, legal documents, large folding documents on parchment with (large) wax seals, many funeral letters, many announcements of weddings and births, many documents, letters, notes and articles regarding genealogical research (incl. the relationship between George Vancouver - founder of the city of Vancouver - and the Van Coeverden family), a photo of the family house Havezate Wegdam, 15 framed miniature portraits, etc. etc.
