[Egypt. Asis Domet (1890-1943)] Domets Werke 1. Band. Ausgewählte Werke

No place, publisher or date (c. 1933), 5 parts in one vol., (3),50,(2); (1),96; (1),102; (1),34; (1),43 leaves stencilled on one side, with photographic frontispiece portrait, plain cloth with gilt spine title, 4to.

Contents good, binding affected by damp. Highly curious and extremely rare publication, the first (presumably only) volume of 3 planned volumes on the Egyptian playwright, writer and poet. The introduction by editor Amin Dablan (Domet's brother) is followed by the first chapter, discussing the "Neuarabische Literatur" and also by Dablan, which from leaf 11 on discusses Asis Domet. Domet (1890-1943) was born into a protestant Arabic family in Cairo. He stood apart from nearly all Arab writers by being supportive of the Zionists.
