Water stain to first blank, occ. sl. foxed. Lovely copy of this rare work, of which the first edition appeared in 1742, without plates. Gijsbert Cuper (1644-1716), professor of history and rhetoric at the Athenaeum in Deventer, subsequently principal and mayor of the city. He was a skilled writer and passionate collector of letters by others.
