[Book of hours] Manuscript in French in pen and brown, black and red ink

probably Belgium, c. 1700, from the first flyleaf paginated 1-133; (2),159-398,(5) p. (occ. sl. irregular), on p. 6 an engraved frontispiece by Poquet, p. 7-26 comprise letterpress text "Prières du Matin" (from a Catechism edition c. 1700) followed by another 10 letterpress leaves (not included in hand paging), with 9 p. of loosely inlaid contemporary manuscript music scores, contemporary speckled letter with ribbed back, small 8vo.

Extensive book of hours, beginning with an index in the order of the days of the year with the matching saints, else an index on "l'office des dimanche", "l'office de la semaine", "le propre du temps", "le propre des saints". The book else contains all usual elements such as the "Heures canoniales", "Le propre du temps", "Le XXV Decembre. Le jour de Noel", "La circonsision de notre seigneur", "Le propre des saints. Le XXX Novembre", "Le XV. Aoust. L'Assompti de la Sainte Vierg.", "De la dedicace de l'eglise", etc. etc. etc.
