[Dutch East Indies police actions. Diary of OVW man] "Reisbeschrijving No. 1".
Diary on notepad paper with mark "Nederland zal herryzen The Netherlands shall rise again" on each leaf, 21 (of 22) numbered leaves written on both sides of 20.5 x 12.5 cm., dated 1 October to 12 November [1945], concerning the voyage of the ship Stirling Castle from Liverpool to Australia, signed at the bottom of the last page by B.J. Dieckmann.
Lacks leaf 5, but the lot contains another (nearly literal) version of the story on 30 Roman-numbered leaves written on one side in the same hand on paper from the same notepad. That version lists at the top of leaf I (in another hand) the name "Maj. Steenhouwer", and at the end a list of 25 names and addresses.
