Watercolour and gouache on painter's board, 40.5 x 61 cm., signed lower left "L. van Staaten".

Exhibited under the name Louis van Staaten at the Royal Academy of Arts. The RKD mentions that Hermanus Koekkoek Jr. (1838-1909), too, probably used the pseudonym Louis van Staaten. However, the handwriting of the various signatures (his real name and L. van Staaten) of Fowler Willat matches convincingly.
