Lacks first free endpaper. Joints splitting, spine ends and corners worn. Still an attractive copy from the library of Pierre Daniel Huet (or Huetius, 1630-1721), French churchman and scholar, editor of the Delphin Classics, founder of the Académie de Physique in Caen (1662-1672) and bishop of Soissons from 1685 to 1689 and later of Avranches. This copy with his letterpress anti-theft label in the lower margin of the title p.: "Ne extra hanc Bibliothecam efferatur. Ex obedientiâ." (Do not take this book outside the library. For reasons of obedience). Also from the library of Jonas Andries van Praag (1895-1969), with his bookplate and owner's entry in pen on upper pastedown. Ter Meulen & Diermanse, B.G. 741.
