Amsterdam, Bernard Picart, 1729. 6 pp. Title in red and black with engr. vignette, engraved title page, engravings devided in 5 series with 6 engraved plates each and 1 serie with 2 plates per leaf, all depicting lions (altogether 42 engr.), including 18 after drawings by Rembrandt, others by Dürer and Charles Le Brun. 18th-cent. half leather, raised spine with gilt fleurons, oblong.

Bookplate on upper pastedown. Waterst. in inner margin throughout, occ. (finger)soiled, seldom affecting plates. Binding somewhat shaky, boards edgeworn and leather rubbed. Fine collection of plates after Rembrandt and others.
