With contemporary readers' annotations in ink in the margins of (mostly) the first and last part. Marivaux' novel is about a young man who seduces older women to get along in society. First published 1734-1735. Rare early Amsterdam edition, apparently no copies in NCC. In the same year, the "Compagnie" published a Dutch edition (De gelukkige boer. Eene zeldzaame en waarachtige geschiedenis).
