Jan Jakob Mauricius (1692-1768) was governor of Surinam between 1742-1751, the poem "Gezang op Zee" (from p. 139 onwards) is inspired on his stay there. Also contains the poem "Op den afgodendienst der Jesuiten in China" (p. 47-49). Bound with: (2) Idem.
