Contents very good. Joints split(ting) (upper cover of vol. 2 loosening); spine-ends and outer corners worn. From the library of lord Dinorben, with his engr. armorial bookplate incorporating the Welsh family mottoe "rhad duw a rhyddid" (the grace of God and freedom) on upper pastedowns of both vols. William Lewis Hughes, 1st Baron Dinorben (1767-1852), Welsh philanthropist and Whig politician. Hughes inherited the Llysdulas estate and with that the largest copper mine in Europe. (2) Tommaso Tommasi. La vita del duca Valentino, descritto del Tomaso Tomasi (...). Montechiaro, G.B.L. Vero, 1655, (12),303 pp., contemp. calf w. gilt and ribbed spine, all edges marbled and gilt, 4to. Upper joint split, but good holding on cords; covers rubbed. From the library of the Irish brewer and philantropist William Horatio Crawford (1815-1888), with his engr. armorial bookplate on upper pastedown. His "Lakelands library" was sold at auction in 1891, for more money than any Irish collection sold previously. The present work describes the life of duke Cesare Borgia (1475-1507). (total 3)
