Occ. sm. defects such as tears on folds, mild foxing; final map lacks a portion of blank upper outer corner. A very good copy with stamp on verso title: "Dr. Williams's Library Red Cross Street London". Comprises the worldmap, 5 maps of Africa, 12 maps of Asia and 10 maps of Europe. Koeman Me 6; Van der Krogt I, 1:522. The second Halma edition. "The plates of the Mercator maps were at the 1694 auction probably bought by François Halma (1632-1722) and used again for three editions in the years 1695-1704. The plates have been reworked. Modern cartouches with titles replace the old cartouche with the text concerning te meridian (...)." (Van der Krogt I, 491).
