[Henry Moore] W. Shakespeare. Hamlet
Unabridged English edition suggested by Dr. Stanley Wells. Rome, Delfino - Edizioni d'Arte, n.d. (1985), 99,(6) pp., printed in 1221 or 1571 numb./ lettered copies (one of only 21 lettered copies "ad personam", this copy lettered "C"), w. 10 col. plates and orig. cover bas-relief "Hamlet's Dilemma" in bronze after/ by Henry Moore, orig. leather over wooden sides, w. gilt and ribbed spine, large folio, kept in orig. velvet-covered wooden stand (in near mint condition).
The colophon states that 350 numb. copies are reserved for other countries, without specifying whether or not these copes are part of the 1200 numered copies. We found a few ordinary numbered copies, with the annotation that the number of 1200 copies must be (grossly) exaggerated, based on the very few copies they traced. We found an ordinary numbered copy elsewhere, with the annotation that there are far less circulating works, because the production was stopped ahead of time due to high costs. Obviously, the lettered copies are hardly ever offered for sale.
