*Lysistrata was an ancient Athenian comedy play by Aristophanes (446 BC - 386 BC). Aristophanes often used political satire and sexual innuendos in his plays. Lysistrata is the story of a woman trying to end the Peloponnesian War by persuading women to deny all men intercourse until peace was restored.
