[Utrecht city] Collection of ca. 175 mainly 18th cent. views

Various techniques but mainly engraved, various sizes but for the greater part ca. 7 x 10 cm.

The collection contains many duplicates, but nearly all in various states, i.e. large/normal paper, with/without text or otherwise in different editions, in orig. quires or loose. The set comprises a.o. (complete) series of views by H. Spilman after J. de Beyer from the Tegenwoordige Staat (ca. 1750-1760) and by A. Rademaker from Nederlandsche Outheeden en Gezigten and from Kabinet van Nederlandsche en Kleefsche Oudheden. One particular series deserves a further description: a fine series of 12 views by Hendrik Spliman after Jan de Beyer, all obl. 4to size, originally published folded in The Tegenwoordige Staat, but present here as an autonomous set with middle-folds only. It comprises 8 different views on the Singel, a view of the "Plompe Tooren" and 3 views of city gates. Sold as acollection of prints, not subject to return. (total ca. 175)
